Luxury Resort to be built on Randheli
Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH), is set to open a new resort hotel in the Maldives in 2013. The resort will be built on the gorgeous island of Randheli in Noonu Atoll and will consist of 46 luxury villas.
LVMH is no stranger to the high-end hotels market. LVMH also owns White 1921, a boutique hotel in St Tropez, France that is composed of eight suites individually designed by French designer Jean-Michel Wilmotte and Cheval Blanc Courchevel.
This announcement reflects a growing trend of luxury fashion brands diversifying their portfolios with luxury hotel projects. Earlier this month Bulgari Hotels & Resorts announced plans to open a new hotel in Shanghai in 2015. Meanwhile, Missoni brand of hotels is set to build more properties in Oman, Turkey, Brazil and Mauritius in the next few years.
